Finally the expected new Mortal Kombat arrived and with it the beginning of the competitions in this title. With just 1 month of life, the response of the FGC, and specifically of the national scene, has been unbeatable. In these few weeks we have begun to see the amount of people who have joined the fight in this saga confirming the good feelings that made us perceive the beta of the game.
The good thing to do with the game from its first announcement until the launch itself has pleased both veterans and new players, and proof of this is the large number of participants who are registering in their first tournaments. And to make things even more attractive, the announcement of the “Kombat Cup: Road / Path to…” tournaments opens the possibility of getting the trip, accommodation and participation in a tournament of those normally known as Major, that is, of the the rest
prestigio en fighting games.
From Barcelona Fighters, we were glad to announce that the Mortal Online Game of this past Sunday May 12 would be part of the Kombat Cup: Path to EVO, a kind of circuit that awards points to the best classified in a series of tournaments, both online as offline To achieve
exceeding 100 participants, the tournament reached the second best scoring scale for online tournaments.
And finally it was time to demonstrate everything that many had been practicing for hours, and in the case of several players, a few. The tournament started and we could see who had done the homework better. At least in stream, one of the most represented characters
it was Jax, one that does not usually appear as fixed in the Top 5 of the game in the first tier list that are coming out, but that is not far away.
As for the famous top tier, we could see Geras and Sonya from Robertim, but we had no chance to see the fearsome Erron Black! Noob Saibot, who has not ended up being considered one of the top at the moment, managed to reach third position thanks to the great performance of Griec. We also saw the return of the most emblematic fan launcher! More than one player made use of Kitana, leading to interesting duels such as the mirror match between Eidriam and Himdusty or Mcbroly's comeback against Frozze after starting losing 0-2 the Semi-Final Losers. Until the Losers Quarter-Final the Liu Kang of MF was planted, and very close it was Ardul to reach the Losers Semi-Final with his Sonya.
The technical problems that online competitions usually entail in the first months of life (and in this case not even 1 month) of a new game did not let us enjoy all the fights we would have wanted. There was no occasion to see the duels of Gumius18 or MikeGR at its best, but without doubt the online experience of the next tournament will be much better.
The finals were the most exciting and next to the spectacular hardness of Jax de Pirrikop, who did not floor the losers bracket, we had the titanic Kotal Kahn of Mcbroly who snatched the second position to Griec in a tight Losers Final that was one of the best tournament fighting.
From the losers side, Mcbroly tried but Pirrikop gave no respite to anyone and the undisputed champion of this first Mortal Kombat 11 online tournament was proclaimed.
And finally, thank you very much to everyone who made yesterday's tournament possible. To all who added your grain of sand by registering in the tournament, to all the spectators of the tournament and of course, to all those players who accompanied us throughout the day. Thank you for your understanding of the technical problems and apologies from us.
And you know ... The fight goes on!
Until the next fight,
Aalasthor
